Adverse Effects

Contraindications and Precautions

Drug Interactions

Antibiotics: Magnesium may interfere with tetracyclines (e.g., doxycycline) and fluoroquinolones (e.g., ciprofloxacin), potentially reducing their efficacy. Separate doses by at least 2 hours.

Calcium Channel Blockers and Potassium-Sparing Diuretics: Consult a physician if using concurrently, as there may be interactions.

Muscle Relaxants: Magnesium can enhance muscle relaxant effects by reducing acetylcholine release at neuromuscular junctions.

Calcium or Boron Supplements: Concurrent use may reduce magnesium absorption.

Other Medications:

Amiodarone, phenobarbital, phenytoin, and captopril may interact with vitamin B6.

Aluminum-containing drugs and vitamin D may raise blood aluminum, particularly in chronic renal insufficiency.

Digoxin and verapamil users should monitor serum calcium when taking this supplement, due to vitamin D content.

Vitamin K2 can reduce the efficacy of anticoagulants like warfarin.

Use During Pregnancy and Lactation

Due to high levels of vitamins B1 and B6, use during pregnancy and lactation is recommended only under physician supervision.
