Dosage and Administration

Follow physician instructions, or use as follows:

Infants (7-12 months): 0.7 ml daily

Children (1-8 years): 0.5 ml daily or as directed by a physician
Use the calibrated dropper provided. Can be administered directly or dissolved in 3.1 glass of water.

Contraindications and Precautions

Consult a physician if using other medications, supplements, or herbal products, or if there are chronic health conditions.

Discontinue if any component causes hypersensitivity.

Side Effects

Side effects may occur alongside therapeutic benefits. Due to the liposomal iron formulation, side effects like stomach discomfort and nausea are reduced as the iron does not come into contact with the gastrointestinal lining. Consult a doctor if any side effects occur.

Drug Interactions

Interactions: Penicillamine, levothyroxine, tetracycline antibiotics (e.g., doxycycline), fluoroquinolones (e.g., ciprofloxacin), and cephalexin may interact with iron, potentially reducing their efficacy. Maintain a minimum two-hour gap between these medications and Ferroosmal A+D.

Other interactions: Orlistat may reduce the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A and D). Vitamin D might increase aluminum absorption, so consult a physician for patients with kidney failure before use.

Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

Iron: A vital trace element, iron is primarily found in hemoglobin in red blood cells and myoglobin in muscle cells, crucial for oxygen and carbon dioxide transport. It’s also essential in neurotransmitter synthesis (dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin). Iron deficiency symptoms include anemia, lethargy, growth delays, hair loss, and liver enlargement. Liposomal iron in this product enhances absorption in the intestine without degradation by stomach acid, leading to improved absorption and fewer side effects.

Vitamin A: A fat-soluble vitamin required for vision, bone growth, reproduction, immune function, and cellular integrity. Acts as an antioxidant, stimulating immune response and cancer prevention. Essential for proper iron utilization, vitamin A deficiency can disrupt bone marrow hematopoiesis and blood cell formation. It also supports epithelial health, lung growth, and respiratory cell function, while promoting collagen production for wound healing.

Vitamin D: A fat-soluble vitamin, mainly regulating serum calcium and phosphorus. In the absence of sufficient vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus absorption in the intestines decreases. Vitamin D improves bone strength by enhancing muscle function and neuromuscular activity and is key to immune function, reducing risks of autoimmune diseases, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and cancers (colon, breast, prostate).

Storage Conditions

Store at temperatures below 30°C, away from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children. After opening, the product is usable for up to one month with the dropper attached.
