Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

  • Valerian Root: Demonstrates sedative and anxiolytic properties. Clinical studies confirm its role in reducing stress and improving sleep latency and quality.
  • Chamomile Flower: Contains matricin, bisabolol, and apigenin, which exhibit anti-inflammatory and anxiolytic effects by interacting with benzodiazepine receptors.
  • Passionflower: Acts as an anxiolytic, sedative, analgesic, and antispasmodic. It reduces aggression, restlessness, and enhances pain tolerance through its alkaloids and compounds such as maltol.
  • Hops Flower: Proven sedative properties linked to compounds like 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol and isovaleric acid.
  • B Vitamins: Essential for neurotransmitter function (e.g., serotonin production) and CNS health. Deficiencies may cause anxiety, depression, and fatigue.
  • Calcium and Magnesium: Crucial for neurological stability; deficiencies are linked to anxiety and stress. Magnesium is often used in anxiety management.
  • Vitamin C: Supports adrenal function during stress. Deficiency may result in fatigue, irritability, and anxiety.
