Simodream capsules, manufactured by Simorgh Darou Attar, are formulated to promote restful sleep and reduce anxiety.
For the relief of insomnia, restlessness, and as a mild sedative.
Take 1 to 3 capsules daily or as directed by a healthcare provider.
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis): The active part of valerian is the root and rhizome, which possess sedative, hypnotic, anxiolytic, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, and antispasmodic effects. Studies confirm its calming properties and mild sedative effects for those with both normal and disturbed sleep patterns. Valerian reduces sleep onset time, helps correct sleep disturbances, and improves overall sleep quality.
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora): Known for its calming, antibacterial, and antispasmodic effects, skullcap is used for treating digestive and cardiac conditions rooted in nervousness and anxiety. Traditionally, it also aids digestion, wound healing, and serves as a mouth freshener.
Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata): Animal studies indicate spasmolytic activity similar to papaverine and central nervous system depression effects. Sedative effects have been observed, along with decreased sleep onset time, anticonvulsant activity (at higher doses), and reduced spontaneous activity (at lower doses). Harman alkaloids in passionflower may stimulate the central nervous system by inhibiting monoamine oxidase (MAO), while malto and ethyl maltol counteract these stimulant effects.
Hops (Humulus lupulus): Exhibits strong sedative effects in animal studies. The 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol compound can reach up to 0.15% concentration in hops, enhancing its sedative properties. Iso-valeric acid residues in hops may also contribute to its calming effects. Hops have shown antibacterial and antifungal properties, particularly against certain Gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and yeasts (e.g., Trichophyton, Candida), likely due to humulone and lupulone. Hops also have mild estrogen-like effects, possibly useful as a phytoestrogen. Its effects on menstrual regulation, relief of menstrual discomfort, and reduction of sexual arousal and priapism in men may be attributed to these properties.
Valerian may interact with alprazolam and other benzodiazepines.
Skullcap, hops, and passionflower may interact with other sedative medications.
Valerian: Generally safe in therapeutic doses but may occasionally cause gastrointestinal issues, headache, or cardiac disturbances.
Passionflower: Typically safe but may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients.
Hops: Safe at therapeutic doses but may cause contact dermatitis, respiratory allergies, or sensitivities in certain individuals.
Use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Passionflower: Use cautiously in hypotensive patients with regular blood pressure monitoring. Discontinue use at least two weeks prior to surgery.
Skullcap: Typically safe at therapeutic doses but may increase CNS depression when combined with anesthetics or other sedatives. Discontinue use at least two weeks prior to surgery.
Hormone-Sensitive Conditions: Use with caution due to the phytoestrogenic activity of hops. Discontinue at least two weeks prior to surgery.
Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
