Formulation

• Coated tablets
• Packaging: 30 tablets, in 3 blister packs of 10 tablets each, with an instruction leaflet in a cardboard box.

Each Tablet Contains

• Dry Artichoke Leaf Extract (Cynara scolymus): 300 mg
• Milk Thistle Seed Powder (Silybum marianum): 150 mg

Standardized to Contain 17.85 mg Caffeoylquinic Acid per Tablet

Other Ingredients

• Magnesium Stearate
• Talc

Indications

• Supports fat metabolism
• Enhances bile production
• Improves digestion

Dosage and Administration

Take 1 tablet 3-4 times daily, or as directed by a physician.

Precautions and Contraindications

• If taking any other medications, supplements, or herbal products, or if diagnosed with gallstones, bile duct obstruction, or chronic conditions such as cancer, consult your physician or pharmacist before use.
• Discontinue use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this product.

Side Effects

When used as directed by a physician, this product is generally safe. However, like any supplement, it may cause some unwanted side effects. Drug Interactions

• Concurrent use of artichoke extract and milk thistle seed with antidiabetic medications may increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
• Milk thistle seed may interact with anticoagulants such as warfarin, tamoxifen, sirolimus, and morphine, increasing their effects.
• This product may increase serum levels of medications primarily metabolized by CYP2C9, such as cannabinoid medications, carvedilol, bosentan, celecoxib, warfarin, and phenytoin.
• Use of milk thistle with deferiprone or sirolimus may increase blood concentrations of these medications. Therefore, it is advisable to consult your physician before using Sim Fat Liver if you are on any of these drugs.

Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

• Artichoke may reduce cholesterol synthesis, likely due to direct inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase by cynaroside and its derivative, luteolin.
• Milk thistle prevents the production of oxidized LDL, likely through antioxidant effects and free radical scavenging mechanisms.
• Milk thistle may inhibit acyltransferase, reducing cholesterol absorption and lipoprotein biosynthesis.
• Milk thistle has also been shown to reduce myeloperoxidase (MPO) levels in patients with hyperlipidemia.
• The pharmacological effects of silymarin include a lipid-lowering action, characterized by reduced VLDL and LDL levels, and increased HDL levels.

Use During Pregnancy and Lactation

Should be used during pregnancy and lactation only under the supervision of a physician.

• Store the product in its original packaging, away from light and moisture, at temperatures below 30°C.
