Dosage and Administration

As prescribed by a physician or as follows:

Infants (7–12 months): 1 mL daily

Children (1–8 years): 0.7 mL daily
Administer directly into the mouth or dissolve in one-third of a glass of water.

Side Effects

No specific side effects have been reported with this product. The use of liposomal iron minimizes gastrointestinal side effects, such as stomach pain and nausea, as it prevents direct contact of iron with the gastrointestinal mucosa.

Interactions

Levothyroxine and Levodopa may interact with this product due to the presence of iron, which can reduce their absorption. Iron can also reduce the absorption of bisphosphonates. It is recommended to take this product at least 2 hours apart from these medications.

Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

The iron in this product is microencapsulated in a phospholipid and sucrose ester membrane, allowing it to pass through the stomach unaltered and be absorbed directly in the intestines. Since the iron molecules are not in direct contact with the gastrointestinal tissue, this form of iron supplement is associated with significantly fewer gastrointestinal side effects compared to other iron supplements.
