Each Capsule Contains

Lactobacillus acidophilus: 100×10⁹ CFU (Standardized to a minimum of 10⁹ CFU per capsule)
Calcium (as dicalcium phosphate): 151 mg
Pectin: 10 mg
Other Ingredients: Inulin, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica

Dosage and Administration

Take 2 capsules, 2 to 4 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare provider.

Precautions and Contraindications

Consult a healthcare professional before using this product if taking any medications, supplements, or herbs, or if suffering from chronic conditions.
Discontinue use if allergic to any ingredient in the product.
Stop using this product before undergoing gastrointestinal or intestinal surgery.
Caution is advised when using this product in patients with Short Bowel Syndrome, immunodeficiencies, or sarcoidosis due to the presence of Lactobacillus, and it should only be used under medical supervision.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Side Effects

As with any product, side effects may occur, though not everyone will experience them.
Gastrointestinal discomfort, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may result from Lactobacillus.
Nausea, constipation, and mild gastrointestinal discomfort may be related to the calcium content.
Pectin may cause constipation, particularly in the elderly.

Drug Interactions

A minimum of two hours should be observed between taking antibiotics and this product.
Immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporine, tacrolimus, and azathioprine may interact with the Lactobacillus and should only be used under a healthcare provider’s guidance.
Concurrent use of calcium with thyroid hormones (e.g., levothyroxine) may reduce the absorption of levothyroxine. At least 4 hours should be allowed between taking calcium and thyroid medications.
Pectin may interfere with the absorption of digoxin, lovastatin, and tetracycline, and should not be taken together.
Caution should be exercised in patients with either high or low serum phosphate levels due to the calcium content.

Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

Probiotics are microorganisms that support health by enhancing the body’s natural flora. These products compete with harmful microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby reducing the survival of pathogenic bacteria.
Research has shown that Lactobacillus species can reduce the adhesion of pathogenic bacteria to the intestinal walls and inhibit their colonization, thus contributing to gut health and preventing gastrointestinal diseases.
Lactobacillus also stimulates macrophage and lymphocyte activity, enhances alpha interferon production, and modulates cytokine production, which supports immune function.
