Active Ingredients

Each gram of Simodent Gel contains:

• Clove Oil (Dianthus Oil) – 20%
• Peppermint Essence (Mentha piperita essence) – 1%

Other Ingredients: Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol, Purified Water.

Standardized to contain 6.2 mg Eugenol per gram of gel.

Indications for Use

Simodent Gel is intended for the temporary relief of toothache, providing antiseptic and local anesthetic effects for dental caries.

Dosage and Administration

Apply a small amount of gel to the affected area of the decayed tooth using an applicator. If necessary, this gel can be applied every two hours.

• Discontinue use if you experience any allergic reactions to any of the ingredients.
• This product is intended for the relief of tooth pain; please consult a dentist for proper treatment.

• Not for use in children under 2 years of age.
• Avoid prolonged use of the product.

Side Effects

Drug Interactions

No significant drug interactions have been observed when used concurrently with other medications.

Pharmacological Effects and Mechanism of Action

Clove oil is a widely used medicinal plant, typically used to relieve conditions such as headaches and toothaches. Research has shown that massaging clove extract on the gums is effective in treating gum infections and reducing tooth pain. The eugenol component of clove oil works by reversible inhibition of calcium channels, producing local anesthesia at the site of application.
Peppermint oil, containing menthol, menthone, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and oxidants like piperitone oxide, exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Menthol in peppermint oil also has a cooling effect, stimulating opioid receptors and blocking pain-related channels, thereby reducing pain.

Use During Pregnancy and Lactation

Use of this product is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool, dry place, below 30°C, away from direct light and moisture, and out of reach of children. After each use, tightly close the tube.
