Patients with hyperphosphatemia (high phosphate levels), hypophosphatemia (low phosphate levels), or hypercalcemia (high calcium levels) should avoid using calcium supplements in excess of the prescribed dosage.
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis should use this product with caution due to the presence of zinc.
When taken as directed, this supplement is generally safe; however, as with all supplements, unwanted effects may occur. Possible side effects may include:
Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea.
Consult your physician or pharmacist if any of these side effects occur.
Antibiotics (e.g., Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Doxycycline, Minocycline) and Levothyroxine may interact with this product due to the calcium content, as calcium can chelate these drugs and reduce their absorption. These medications should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after calcium supplementation.
Bisphosphonates (e.g., Alendronate) may also interact with this product, as calcium can reduce their absorption. These should be taken separately.
For individuals at risk of iron deficiency, it is recommended to take calcium supplements at night to avoid interference with iron absorption.
This product may reduce the effectiveness of Penicillamine and should be taken at least 2 hours apart.
Zinc may theoretically increase the effects of antidiabetic medications.
Over 99% of calcium in the human body is found in bones and teeth. Reduced estrogen levels in women lead to decreased calcium absorption and bone mass.
The regulation of plasma calcium and phosphorus levels is primarily controlled by Vitamin D, which enhances intestinal calcium absorption. Vitamin D is crucial for calcium balance and bone health, and plays a key role in osteoporosis prevention.
Vitamin D also contributes to muscle strength and neuromuscular function, thus supporting bone health.
Zinc plays a vital role in various bodily processes including growth, immunity, reproduction, and neurobehavioral development.
Magnesium supports nerve, muscle, and cardiovascular function. When combined with calcium, zinc, and Vitamin D, magnesium helps delay the process of bone degradation and osteoporosis.
This product may be used during pregnancy and lactation as directed by a physician.
Store the product in its original box, away from light and moisture, at a temperature below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. After each use, close the bottle tightly.
